ADS Member Wins Cruz Salsa Competition!
Freshman ADS member Marquis Pendleton had a wild night on Tuesday February 21st, 2012. This was not any normal trip to a UMass Basketball game for Marquis as he got the opportunity to compete against two other individuals to win a salsa dancing competition at halftime. The salsa dancing competition was judged by none other than SuperBowl XLVI Champion New York Giants’ wide receiver Victor Cruz. Cruz was visiting his alma mater of UMass for the first time since becoming a NFL sensation.
Pendleton had some stiff competition, but pulled it out at halftime on the Mullins Center hardwood after the fans definitively voted for Marquis with their cheers and Victor Cruz’s obvious approval of the choice. Marquis did not go away with just pride for winning the salsa dancing competition in front of one of his favorite players, but also won a 42” inch VIZIO television for his efforts.
